Early Career

Over the next several years, David Ragan continued to compete in the Cup Series, earning a reputation as a consistent driver who could finish races and compete for top-10 finishes. In 2011, he won his first Cup Series race at the Coke Zero 400 at Daytona, becoming the youngest driver ever to win a Cup Series race at the track.

In 2012, David Ragan moved to Front Row Motorsports, where he continued to race in the Cup Series. He had a breakthrough season in 2013, earning two top-five finishes and finishing 28th in the standings.

In 2015, David Ragan joined Joe Gibbs Racing as a substitute driver for injured driver Kyle Busch. He had several strong performances in the No. 18 car, including a fifth-place finish at Bristol Motor Speedway.

Retirement

In 2019, David Ragan announced that he would be retiring from full-time racing at the end of the season. He finished his career with two Cup Series wins, 15 top-five finishes, and 40 top-10 finishes.

David Ragan continues to be involved in the racing world, serving as an analyst for FOX Sports’ NASCAR coverage and running a driver development program. He also gives back to his community through his David Ragan Foundation, which supports organizations that work with children in need.
